These pictures are from our trip to Carlsbad Caverns, October 26th - 28th. We took the scenic route to Carlsbad and the fast route home via I-20. We had a good ride and the Caverns were fun and interesting.

Leaving Saginaw at 7:00a Friday morning. The weather was quite cool Friday morning, I saw 34 degrees just west of Mineral Wells.

Stopping for lunch at the Dairy Queen in Snyder, TX.

Arriving at the Best Western in Carlsbad, NM.

Stopping along the road leading to the Visitor's Center.

A couple of Harley riders heading to the Caverns. They were on their way back to Georgia after riding to California.

A new Visitor's Center is under construction.

Everything has been moved to trailers.

Inside the Visitor's Center.

Natural entrance to the cavern, in the foreground is the amphitheater. People gather here to see the bats fly out of the cavern at dusk.

Greg ready to head into the cavern. He found an invitation to the submarine races inside his camera case as we walked to the entrance.

Looking up at the entrance from inside.

We ate lunch inside the cavern 740 feet underground.

The pictures inside the cavern do not do it justice.

This ladder was used by early explorers.

What a wonderful formation!

Leaving the motel on Sunday morning.

It was too early for lunch in Andrews, TX when I spied Buddy's Drive-In. Would liked to have given it a try.
